Ex-Morning Musume member Konno Asami is set to rejoin Hello! Project. It has been announced that she will rejoin the Gatas Brilhantes H.P. futsal team, resuming her role as the goalkeeper, as well as taking part in an upcoming Gatas single, to be released in August.

The announcement comes nearly a year after she graduated, back in July 2006. Always modelled as the brightest in Morning Musume, she quit the group to go to the prestigious Keio University and concentrate on her studies. Since leaving, she passed the entrance exam for the Environment and Information Studies department and has been happily studying at the Fujisawa campus.

"I've decided that it's possible for me to balance both my studies and playing in Gatas" she said. "In case there is a conflict, however, my studies will take priority."

A statement from their agency reads: "When she was graduating, Konno said she would like to continue in Gatas even while she's at university"

The single is called 'Narihajimeta Koi no Bell' and is to be released on August 22nd. It will feature as the theme song for Cirque du Soleil's circus show 'Dralion'. The single will feature members from the Gatas football team, including other ex-Morning Musume members Yoshizawa Hitomi and Ishikawa Rika.

Konno will also be joining the Hello! Project nationwide tour starting from July 15th.
