Things livened up as female fronted punk style rock band Mika Bomb hits the stage, being based in mainly London they had the well deserved cheer on and good vibes from a bunch of fans and audience, they performed exceptionally well generating the biggest stage front audience of the night.
DMBQ

Soon the featured band of the night DMBQ appeared, the main representative of Tokyo's underground sound that was hard rocking, alternative, and heavily psychedelic based. There were lots of noise improvisations throughout the performance and plenty of smoke to fill the stage giving a stoned, psychedelic feel.
Watching them play was like going back in time to the 60s' -70s', the guitarist’s long hippy style hair, the bassist's afro, their clothes, definitely, the image and feel was all there.

Towards the end of their performance the vocalist Shinji Masuko wore a gas mask that had a mic through one of the holes, he secured the gas mask on his head with thick black tape and made an awful lot of noise that was crazily loud with the guitars and amps left ringing throughout at the same time. I could almost feel my eardrums on the verge of piercing! I've stood right next to speakers at gigs before, but this time was really, very loud, or noisy should I say.
Overall it was a successful night and particularly good that there was more than just a single genre of Japanese music dominating the whole show, instead it was like a luxury Japanese feast with all kinds for the audience to dig their teeth into! This was certainly not what you get or see often here in the UK! It was thoroughly enjoyable. The event also attracted several young Japanese people attending the show.
Hopefully, with the great response received on the night more events like this will take place again for the overseas fans of Japanese music.
