Hello everyone,
I hope this finds you all well and in good health.
I recently received an anonymous certified offer through Network Solutions to buy the jpop.com domain. At first I was reluctant to sell as I have had this domain for over 10 years plus I had no way of determining who the anonymous buyer is (network solutions certifies the funds but keeps the buyer confidential). However, looking at how the site has been over the past couple of years, with it's declining traffic and lack of effort on MY part, I thought perhaps it was time to let it go and start over.
I have decided to accept the offer and use the money to start a new site from scratch. One with more focus and effort. The new site will be called bokunojpop.com : boku no JPOP ~ My Jpop. I will be looking for dedicated bloggers who can contribute to the new site. We have a lot of strong minds here, not only music lovers but people with opinions and interesting thoughts.
Best of luck also to the new owners of the jpop.com domain, may they make it a worthwhile place for everyone as I tried to for the last 10+ years.
This forum WILL be moving over to the new domain in the next few weeks however I will be redesigning it and giving it an all new focus.
I wanted to thank you all for the roles you have played in making jpop.com a fun part of people's lives and for making a difference. Even though the site has declined, it has made an impact thanks to members and staff like yourselves. Even google shows that jpop.com is mentioned or linked on 22,300 pages. That in itself is no small feat. There was a time where this site and community was a big part of everyone's lives. It's a time that I will definitely cherish, as I hope you will, but let's move on together to a new beginning for jpop at bokunojpop.com (still under massive construction by me I might add ^^).
JPOP Friends users will also see the service move from here to the new bokunojpop.com site. So stay tuned for that transition.
Please feel free to contact me any time through the new website to let me know if you'd like to blog or just to let me know how you're doing. Please also note, those that are using a jpop.com email, those will cease to exist very soon. You are more than welcome to have a bokunojpop.com email address.
